Effective Date: July 31, 2026
Last Updated: August 13, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how NeuroSet ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the NeuroSet mobile application ("the App").
NeuroSet is a wellness app that plays audio frequencies and guided breathing exercises as timed sets. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
By using NeuroSet, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you use NeuroSet, you may provide us with:
- Profile Information: Your name, your preferred mood, your daily goal and your audio preferences
- Set Data: Which sets you played, for how long, and how much of each you completed
- Mood Ratings: The optional one-tap rating you can give before and after a set. This can be switched off entirely in Settings
- Reminder Settings: The times you asked to be nudged, and the set you chose to start
- Account Information (optional): If you choose to create a NeuroSet account (never required, including to subscribe; it exists to carry a subscription across your devices), we collect your email address (or, if you use Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides, which may be a private relay address) and an account identifier
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
We automatically collect:
- Usage Data: App launches, sessions started and completed, features used
- Diagnostic Data: Crash reports and performance metrics (via Apple's MetricKit framework)
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Location data (precise or approximate)
- Contacts or address book information
- Photos, videos, or audio recordings
- Browsing or search history outside the app
- Financial or payment information (Apple handles all payments; we record only your subscription status)
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data
- Email address, unless you create an account or contact us for support
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide App Functionality: Enable you to complete practice sessions and track progress
- Personalise Your Experience: Filter and display content based on your preferences
- Track Your Progress: Calculate streaks, display insights, and show your practice history
- Sync Your Subscription: If you create an account, link your Pro subscription to it so it follows you across devices and, in future, other platforms where NeuroSet is available
- Improve the App: Analyse crash reports and performance data to fix bugs and improve stability
- Respond to Support Requests: If you contact us, we use your information to assist you
We do NOT use your information for:
- Advertising or marketing
- Selling to third parties
- Profiling for purposes unrelated to app functionality
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Local-First Architecture
NeuroSet is designed with a local-first approach:
- All your health and wellness data is stored on your device: the sets you play, your mood ratings, your name and your preferences never leave your device or your personal iCloud
- The only data we hold on our servers is the optional account and subscription data described in Section 4.2
- Your practice data never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud Sync
4.2 Account & Subscription Data (Optional)
If you choose to create a NeuroSet account (always optional; its purpose is carrying a subscription across your devices), we store on our servers:
- Your email address, or the identifier Apple provides with Sign in with Apple
- An account identifier
- Your subscription status: the plan, whether it is active, when the current period ends, and an Apple transaction identifier that links your subscription to your account
We use trusted service providers to operate this: Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Vercel (API hosting), ZeptoMail by Zoho (sending sign-in emails), and Apple (all payments). Your practice data (sets, mood ratings, history) is never sent to these servers.
4.3 iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud Sync:
- Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- Sync is entirely under your control and you can disable it at any time
- We do not have access to your iCloud data
4.4 Security Measures
- Data stored on your device is protected by iOS encryption
- We use Apple's secure frameworks for data handling
- Account data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
- We do not transmit sensitive health data to external servers
5. Data Sharing
5.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
5.2 Limited Sharing
We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Account and subscription data is processed by the providers named in Section 4.2 (Supabase, Vercel, ZeptoMail, Apple), solely to operate accounts and subscriptions on our behalf
- Apple: Anonymised crash reports and performance metrics may be shared with Apple through MetricKit for diagnostic purposes
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request
- Protection of Rights: We may disclose information to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of others
5.3 No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising
We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.
6. Your Rights & Choices
6.1 Access Your Data
You can view all your data within the App, including your profile, preferences, session history, and progress.
6.2 Delete Your Data
You can delete your data by:
- Uninstalling the App (this removes all local data)
- If using iCloud Sync, you can delete iCloud data via iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
- If you created an account, deleting it in the App (Settings > Account > Delete Account). This removes your account and subscription record from our servers. It does not cancel an active Apple subscription; manage that in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions
6.3 Control iCloud Sync
You can enable or disable iCloud Sync at any time in the App settings or via iOS Settings.
7. Children's Privacy
NeuroSet is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@neuroset.app and we will delete it.
8. International Users
NeuroSet is developed in Australia. If you use the App from outside Australia:
- Your practice data is processed on your device
- If you enable iCloud Sync, data is stored in Apple's iCloud infrastructure, which complies with international data transfer requirements
- If you create an account, your account and subscription data is hosted on Supabase and Vercel infrastructure in the United States
- Nothing else is transferred to servers outside your device or iCloud
9. Data Retention
- On-Device Data: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the App
- iCloud Data: Retained in your iCloud account until you delete it
- Account & Subscription Data: Retained until you delete your account in the App or ask us to remove it
- Diagnostic Data: Apple retains MetricKit data according to their policies
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- For significant changes, we may notify you via the App
- Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
